Paddle the Lakes
Situated on the Gippsland Lakes and surrounded by rivers, means endless paddling options for our Sit on Top Kayaks & Stand Up Paddleboards.
Self-guided Paddling, up to 2hrs
Paddle the Cunningham Arm (aka the front lake), which will take you under our iconic Footbridge at one end, and towards the Entrance at the other end. During peak summer season, our 1-2hr paddling hires paddle on the lake at the Eastern end of Cunningham Arm to keep out of the busy boat traffic. This runs between Eastern Beach bridge, under the Footbridge and to the edge of the Ski Zone near Venture Out Shop. Outside of peak season, experienced paddlers can paddle towards the Entrance channel, park your kayak at Flagstaff Jetty, not beyond Bullock Island, and have a look at the channel to see if you can spot seals & dolphins. Inexperienced paddlers should book a Kayak or SUP Tour for this location.
Half Day (4 hours)
Normally you can paddle from the Cunningham Arm into the North Arm of the lake (aka the back lake) by paddling under the Bullock Island Bridge. This bridge is closed for paddlers at the moment, so kayakers will have to carry kayaks across this section to enter the North Arm, or start your half day paddle by wheeling your kayak on kayak wheels about 5mins down the street to the North Arm starting point. Wyanga Park Winery is a great spot for lunch, you can book our Paddle & Dine package with the winery.
Paddle & Dine $80 Per Person
Enjoy a spectacular lake paddle from the centre of Lakes Entrance on the North Arm to Wyanga Park Winery and return (30-45mins paddle each way). Paddle beyond the Winery if you have extra time before your lunch booking and enjoy the lake winding out of town into the forest. Kayaking starts and finishes on the North Arm which is a 5 min walk from Venture Out shop. Kayak drop off and pick up can be booked to paddling start location for an extra fee.
SUP The Entrance $65 pp
Take a guided Stand Up Paddleboard tour to the Entrance, on the scenic Cunningham Arm of the Gippsland Lakes. This 90 minute experience includes a lesson in Stand Up Paddleboarding suitable for beginners.
Kayak the Lake Tour $65 Per Person
Paddle for up to 90mins with a local guide around the Gippsland Lakes, discover local stories & get up close to the wildlife. Suited to beginners!
Island Hop Kayak Tour $115 Per Person
Explore more of the Gippsland Lakes, just on the outskirts of Lakes Entrance. Hug the lakes edge from Kalimna Jetty to Nyerimilang, pause & check out the cliff top views with refreshments over the islands before island hopping your return paddle. Distance of up to 5km over 3 hours with plenty of breaks along the way.
