Great Vic Bike Ride Tour Options

We’re excited to welcome the Great Vic Bike Ride to East Gippsland, and to showcase our spectacular region to riders during their rest day, November 29th & 30th, 2017.

Below you’ll find a list of tour options and workshops, all of which are bookable on the Booking tab of our site.  Bookings will be confirmed once minimum numbers are reached to run the tours. Payments won’t be taken until tours are confirmed, and can be processed via Paypal.  Please select your desired tour time, however if minimum numbers are not reached for all tours, only selected tours will run and we will offer you either a private price option if available or an alternative time slot. Once a tour is confirmed, a 30% deposit is required to hold your booking. Payment in full to be made 14 days prior to tours, full refund only available if tour is cancelled due to dangerous weather conditions.

The Culture, Caves & Beer Tour, Caves – Beer – Vines Tour, and Beer & Vines Tour options include transfers ex-Bairnsdale campsite in the price. Tours in or near Lakes Entrance on the 30th will require a Transfer add-on to be selected before finishing your booking, which is a per person fee with various departure & return times to be selected.

Culture, Caves & Beer

Catch a glimpse of the stories and culture of the First People of East Gippsland – the Gurnai Kurnai at The Keeping Place in Bairnsdale. Explore the wonders of the Buchan Caves on a guided tour, and then kick back a the Bruthen Bullant Brewery while enjoying the spectacular vistas of the Bruthen Valley over a hot share platter and a local beer.

Caves, Beers & Vines

Explore the wonders of the Buchan Caves on a guided tour, then indulge your senses all the way back to Bairnsdale, via the Bullant Brewery in Bruthen, the Tambo Winery & Nicholson River Winery, sampling a great range of local brews over beautiful views. Tour includes a guided tour of one of the famous Buchan Caves, transfers to and from Bairnsdale, 2 tastings at Bullant Brewery & tastings at both Tambo & Nicholson wineries. Light snacks provided, platters available to purchase.

Beers & Vines

$55 pp

See the countryside as you taste your way from Bruthen to Nicholson. Stopping in at the Bullant Brewery, Tambo Winery & Nicholson River Winery, you’ll be able to sample a wonderful range of local brews over beautiful views. Tour includes 2 tastings at Bullant Brewery, and tastings at both wineries. Light snacks provided, platters available to purchase.

A 2 hour guided Stand Up Paddle boarding Tour, including a lesson for beginners on the Cunningham Arm
to the Entrance to sight seals and dolphins. Enjoy a calm paddle, akin to walking on water!

Scenic Adventure Flights
$55 pp

Discover the most beautiful parts of the Gippsland Lakes and 90 mile beach from the sky on a 15 minute scenic flight, departing Lakes Entrance. An adventure not to be missed on a flight with a max. of 3 per flight.

Lonsdale Eco Cruises
$45 pp

Experience nature on the Gippsland Lakes via an afternoon cruise, with opportunity to sight seals & Burrunan dolphins. Photograph the Entrance and scenic inlets, cruising as far as Metung and Lake King, enjoying freshly baked scones with jam & cream on-board.

Australian Camels

Take a ride of a different kind, a rare and unforgettable 40min camel
experience along the stunning 90 mile beach. Tours from Eastern Beach
at 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1.30, 2.30 & 3.30pm

Paddle & Dine

A self-guided kayak paddle along the North Arm of the lake to Wyanga Park Winery for lunch, approx. 1.5hrs (6km) paddling each way. Your experience includes 5hr sit on top kayak hire, and a main meal & drink of your choice at the Winery.

Hobie Kayak Paddle & Dine $85 per person (max. of 4)

* Option for a one-way paddle only, beginning or ending with lunch, including shuttle pickup/drop off instead of paddling both ways.

Rigby Island Kayak Tour

A 3hr guided kayak tour, paddling around Rigby Island. Enjoy the spectacular views from the Entrance and across the Gippsland Lakes, discover the unique birdlife and see if you can spot some seals & dolphins.

Cheese Making Workshop
“Dairy Essentials” at Culinaire

$122 pp


 In this hands-on, practical course, you’ll learn how to make four delicious and essential home dairy products: yoghurt, butter, ricotta and labne (yoghurt cheese) You’ll be amazed at how easy it is once you have learned the skills and will find you never have to buy these products again. Includes all materials and a delicious artisan-made cheese break (you will also be able to try your hand-made products in the break too). Workshop run by local artisan cheesemaker, Heather Scott of ‘Fromage de Bruyère’.

Meat You on the Other Side – A Journey into Smoking your own Meat
$115 pp

Discover the finer points of smoking meat, the history behind the techniques of meat smoking, what woods are best to use and when, as well as controlling temperature. Enjoy a 3 course meal straight out of the Dutch Oven, paired with Kombucha, and take home some recipes to get smokin’ at home.

All tours to Lakes Entrance require a transfer fee added on to your final booking once your tours and times are selected. This hasn’t been added in already, to allow for participants to choose more than one experience in a day if desired without paying for multiple transfers per person.
